Allendale Square - February 1984

Allendale Co-op – the grocery store built in the 1930s.  At this time the Co-op occupied two buildings.  This one – the grocery – had an entry door on the right and an exit door on the left.  To the left of that building was the Co-op hardware, freezer and drapery store – which is occupied by the Co-op supermarket since c.2000.

The Co-op was opened a store on this site in 1909, but had been operating in the village for some 34 years prior.
