Forstersteads House. Previously the farmhouse of Fostersteads house, much of the land was sold for building up Shilburn. The house remained inhabited until county council pulled it down to make way for the new Fire Station in the c.1970s.
Shilburn Towers, Allendale. This had been Allendale’s workhouse before it closed in 1881.
The ‘Thacky’ – a heather thatched cottage on Shilburn Road – site of the present school car park.
