Allendale Agricultural Show – horse classes, with the church bank in the background.  The show at that time – between c. 1898 and 1920 – was held on Riding Haughs between, which were owned by the Show Committee’s chairman James Walton.  The show ‘came back’ to the Riding in the early 1950s, where it has been held since.
