A sculpture in metal made by Charles Sansbury (who lived at Old Oaks) which was presented to Jack Stephenson in the 1980s. Jack died in 1988.

Made in the year of Queen Victoria’s Jubilee this Jubilee Toilet mirror was made by Peter Hetherington (born June 1862).

Peter Hetherington lived at Cross Keys, Allendale and was a cabinet maker/joiner. This is a sample of his work
Irene Bell (née Peart, 1917-2004) and her quilting. Irene’s mother was Jenny Peart (née) Liddell, who grew up at Byerhope and later lived at Juniper Farm, Thornley Gate. Jenny trained under Elizabeth Sanderson in the Allendale Quilt Stamping technique.

After marriage, Irene lived at Elmcroft and worked at Allendale Middle School as a dinner lady. She spent her last years living on Arnison Terrace.
