Allendale Square - Circa 1950
One of Dorothy and Harry Lancaster’s riding school ponies – Lindy – outside the Co-op Drapery – now the Co-op supermarket. Harry lived at Leadgate and worked at the garage which is now The Forge.

I am more or less certain this is not Harry. Harry was born c. 1900 (his daughter Dorothy was born in 1926) and the Co-op drapery building wasn’t built until the c.930s. I recognise the pony as Lindy, who was bought in the 1950s for the riding school when it was behind the King’s Head, and Dorothy and Harry Lancaster ran it.
I agree with the above comment that this could not possibly be Harry. I remember riding Lindy in the 50s
