Haydon Bridge - Circa 1890

On a hillside overlooking Haydon Bridge stands the ‘Old Church’.  Built in 1190 in the Norman style with re-used Roman stones it was later partly demolished, leaving only the chancel, and stones were removed to built the current parish church.  The building was restored in 1882, after which this photograph was taken.
